Adventure Camps

Hello to Summer!

You, your family and friends are invited to attend our 2nd Annual Eldorado Canyon Rock Climbing and Hiking  Day.

Transportation to and from, August 23rd a Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3;30 p.m. ,$75 per participant.  Come hungry for a tasty barbeque.IMG_5267

You will spend the day with experienced instructors from the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD).  This talented group from Winter Park will oversee the climbing.   Come join us an learn climbing safety and basic techniques for all levels while discovering more about yourself.  Rock climbing is thrilling for people of all ages and teaches organization, process, and problem solving skills.  Everyone is welcome to come and some fun and if climbing is not your thing, enjoy a canyon hike.

Oh What Fun We Had At The Paddlesports Event!!!

On a warm summer’s evening of June 30th, we experienced a few hours of water fun.  We enjoyed outrigger canoeing, kayaking, conversation, hamburgers cooked to perfection and new and old friends.  We look forward to repeating this event.

We welcome inquiries from participants and volunteers from anywhere in the US.  Our camps are an opportunity to build friendships; gain confidence, accomplish physical feats you did not think possible, earn field work credits and have more fun than you thought imaginable! Partial scholarship funding awarded based on needs and availability of funds.

Participants

Apply by application (on line, by email or phone). Your application will be reviewed and your place on the camp confirmed by the Camp Director. An administration fee of $100 must accompany your camper application.  This amount will be applied to your camper fee but is forfeited if you do not attend.   All camp fees and paperwork are due one month prior to camp.

Volunteers/Registered Nurses (RNs)

Volunteers and RNs do not pay a fee.  Volunteers and RNs will arrive a day early for a training session. Apply by application (on line, by email or phone). It has been stated that this week will change you forever.

NEWS!  Registered nurses from Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Englewood, CO, who have experience with brain injury survivors and their needs, will be volunteering at our Challenge by Choice Adventure Programs this year.

These talented nurses, along with our current gifted nurse-volunteers will provide an unprecedented level of support to all campers.

2014 Adventure Camps

GOOD NEWS!   With the additional day we have added to April Fools there will be more time to enjoy the snow and all it offers.

April Fools Winter Camp

April 3-7 (17 yrs. and older) – $1,365

Try downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding with the Breckenridge Adaptive Ski staff. In addition you will be able to snowshoe, dog sled and ice fish.
Program staffed by volunteers, RN, and experienced staff/instructors and interns.


Eldorado Canyon Rock Climbing and Hiking 2014

Experience the thrill of climbing and enjoy a BBQ with friends and family.  Learn climbing safety and basic techniques for all levels through the instructions from the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) team. Click here for application & release forms.

June 15-20 (17 yrs. and older) – $1,855

Volunteers arrive on the 14th

River rafting, ropes course, hand cycling, wall climbing, theme dance. You will stay at the Griffith Lodge. Program staffed by volunteers, RN, and BOEC experienced staff/instructors & interns. This is a one on one camp.


Challenge by Choice # 2

July 13-18 (17 yrs. and older) – $1,855

Volunteers arrive on the 12th

River rafting, ropes course, hand cycling, wall climbing, theme dance. You will stay at the Griffith Lodge. Program staffed by volunteers, RN, and BOEC experienced staff/instructors & interns. This is a one on one camp.

Canoe Trip (Ruby & Horse Thief Canyons) 2014

September 3-7 (17 yrs. and older) – $945 

Journey begins at the Outdoor Education Center (BOEC)  travel, by van, to Grand Junction, rafting, camping on shore, fishing, swimming, splashing.  The group will return to the BOEC for pick up.


Creative Minds 2014

September 12-15  (17 yrs and older) – $970

Volunteers arrive on the 12th

Cooking, hiking, field trips, poetry, painting, movement, laughter and socializing.
Program staffed by volunteers, RN, and BOEC experienced staff/instructors and interns.


Youth Quest for Adventure 2014

Late September to early October Date To Be Announced
Presented by Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado and Denver Adventures

7 to 25 year-olds who have sustained a brain injury are invited to join us for an exciting day of zip lining in the foothills of Colorado near Conifer.  Family members welcome to “zip” too.
