We offer affordable, holistic counseling to those who might otherwise be unable to experience the transformative power and support of professional counseling. The counseling interns who staff our programs are master’s degree level students or graduates acquiring experience for professional licensure with the State of Colorado. They are carefully selected based on life experience and personal development to ensure the highest quality for our clients.
This program is intended for clients who have a need for counseling services but lack the resources for full-priced psychotherapy. Counseling by People House interns is on a sliding scale basis at a suggested cost of $20 to $40 per hour or more depending on ability to pay. We request that clients choose the appropriate fee based on income and life circumstances. We hope all of you who want to improve your personal development, but may lack the financial resources for professional counseling, will consider taking advantage of this program it will empower your life!
We serve the brain injury population in several different areas. In our Affordable Counseling Program we have interns who do Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We also have practitioners who do EMDR, Craniosacral therapy, hypnotherapy and sensorimotor therapy.
The People House Veterans Reintegration Program (VRP) offers person-centered solutions for veterans and their families seeking to re-establish thriving civilian lives, offering support and care for combat-related PTSD through veteran directed mentoring. We are dedicated to ensuring that each veteran we serve is recognized as an individual with a unique history and intricate needs. Our philosophy of care focuses on helping vets reconnect to their self-respect, often lost to the challenges of PTSD and reintegration. We honor each vet's intuition and preferences in making decision for their care, while fostering accountability and personal responsibility. Contact People House to be connected with a VRP mentor.

We take many types of commercial insurance, including Medicare and Tricare, and specialize in working with military service members and veterans. TBI (in particular mild TBI and co-occurring PTSD) is our specialty. We also have a research wing that is conducting ongoing research (at UCCS) focusing on TBI, cognitive rehabilitation interventions for TBI, and various aspects related to emotional trauma.
