About Cathleen’s Cause

This event is held in the memory of Cathleen Schmidt. Cathleen fought hard for many years before succumbing to complications from her brain injury. Her family, friends and community supporters continue helping brain injury survivors and their families.

The Brain Injury Association of Colorado is an incredible, caring non-profit organization that provides invaluable resources and services to brain injury survivors and their families.

New in 2026

We are thrilled to have combined with the Bruno/Reinhardt Golf Tournament. For 30 years the Bruno and Reinhardt families hosted a golf tournament raising money to send survivors of a brain injury to adaptive recreation camps. It’s an honor to carry on their legacy through Cathleen’s Cause.

Going forward, a portion of the money raised from Cathleen’s Cause will go toward the Bruno/Reinhardt Scholorship Fund, providing scholorships for survivors of a brain injury to attend adaptive recreation camps in Colorado. By playing in Cathleen’s Cause, you help make these campers’ dreams come true.
