Adult Classes and Workshops

We are proud to offer a variety of classes and workshops to survivors of brain injury throughout the state of Colorado.  All classes and workshops are FREE; however, registration is required.  Please contact Michael with any questions at 720-907-1455 or Michael@BIAColorado.org.

Adaptive Yoga

This specialized yoga class is adapted specifically for adults living with a brain injury in northern Colorado. Props such as chairs, bolsters, blankets, blocks, and fit balls are used to support the stability, safety, and comfort of each participant. Each class will provide the experience of various breathing techniques, mindful movement that includes both strengthening and stretching exercises, and relaxation techniques.

Art Class

Art class is for adults living with brain injury to make art together with a clear prompt and great instruction from our facilitator. During the class there will be quiet time to make art at home while connected virtually, and to share what you are working on if you would like to. Basic art kits will be sent to registrants if needed..

Education Workshop for Parents of Youth With a BI

This workshop will address types of brain injury, educational terms, understanding 504/IEPs and supports available, areas of impact observed in the school setting, and classroom and school intervention strategies.

This group will provide a supportive and healing environment for survivors of brain injury to move through their grief and loss towards and active engagement in life.

This movement involved music therapy class is facilitated by a Board Certified Occupational Therapist who manipulates the elements of music to facilitate therapeutic change through movement.

Self Advocacy for Independent Life – SAIL Class

The Self Advocacy for Independent Life (SAIL) program aims to empower  individuals with the beliefs, knowledge, and skills to advocate for their needs and  wishes after BI. SAIL was developed for both individuals living with brain  injury (BI) who advocate for themselves, and family members who  advocate for/with them.

Join Mimi Hayes, author, comedian, and brain-injury survivor for a much needed wellness support group.

Heads Up for HOPE

Our goal is to provide support for those living with brain injury and their caregivers in a safe, comfortable and encouraging environment that allows people to share personal experiences regarding their injuries, treatments, obstacles, and resources. We offer Support Groups and Yoga & Meditation.

Love Your Brain Yoga

WHAT: This FREE 6-week online program is designed to build resilience and community through yoga, mindfulness, and education. 

  • Receive weekly emails with 4 tools: educational videos, recorded yoga classes, yoga nidra, and guided meditations  
  • Option to join a LYB Mindset Interactive program with weekly online group meetups on Zoom

WHO: Depending on the type of program, people may be eligible if they have experienced a brain injury, are caregivers, yoga teachers, clinicians, or are simply interested in building resilience 

WHEN: Programs start in the winter at different days and times. You can be signed up to receive a notification for when that happens here. All times are listed in EST and PST.
