1 – Western Slope

Brain Injury Basics

Brain Injury Basics is designed for adults living with a brain injury.  This workshop will cover:

  • Types of brain injury and brain anatomy
  • Brain injury facts
  • Symptoms of brain injury and symptom recognition
  • Strategies and treatment options for living with a brain injury

Cooking Matters for Adults

Cooking Matters helps families to shop for and cook healthy meals on a budget. Families learn about nutrition, and they get to cook a healthy meal or snack in each session. Participants are given cooking-related incentives throughout the class as well as fresh healthy foods to take home.

Energy Conservation Workshop

Learn how energy is used, and explore ways to save energy and money.  Bring your Xcel bill and learn how to read and understand it.  Each attendee will be entered into a drawing to win a $10 King Soopers gift card!  Pledge to save energy and take home an LED bulb!

Music therapy is the use of music to address non-musical goals. This can vary from using music to improve speech after a stroke, to using music to help children with developmental disabilities reach their developmental milestones.

Get connected with plants and create your own sensory container that features unique plants for touch, scent, and sight.  In this class, you will work on sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and hand/eye coordination.

3 – Northern Colorado

Adaptive Yoga

This specialized yoga class is adapted specifically for adults living with a brain injury in northern Colorado. Props such as chairs, bolsters, blankets, blocks, and fit balls are used to support the stability, safety, and comfort of each participant. Each class will provide the experience of various breathing techniques, mindful movement that includes both strengthening and stretching exercises, and relaxation techniques.

Learn about assistive technology for time management, reading, writing, computer access, note-taking, and organization.
