Elderhaus Adult Day Program, an independent nonprofit organization, has served Northern Colorado since 1980, offering holistic and therapeutic daytime activities and care for adults while providing vital respite for family members and other caregivers. Elderhaus is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for persons age 18 and older living with brain injuries, post-stroke needs, dementia, MS, Parkinson’s, Down syndrome, autism, and other intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Persons living with brain injuries often can thrive while continuing to reside at home thanks to the social engagement, cognitive stimulation, physical activities, good nutrition, and emotional support Elderhaus provides. Because Elderhaus is community-based and activities-focused, safe, reliable, and accessible transportation also is available for activities-related trips and, in some cases, Elderhaus provides transportation to and from participants’ places of residence in parts of Larimer County.
Elderhaus was the first Adult Day Program approved by the Cheyenne VA to serve veterans. Elderhaus also accepts Medicaid, private pay, and some long-term care insurance policies. Thanks to a partnership between the Larimer County Office on Aging and Elderhaus, “scholarship” assistance for private pay is available for some Larimer County residents; reduced fees also are available for some Weld County residents.
