Impact Vision Therapy

Impact Vision Therapy is a practice with two offices serving the Colorado Springs and South Denver areas. We treat patients with vision related learning problems, such as tracking, ADD/ADHD, and double vision, as well as trauma related vision problems, working with patients of all ages to retrain their brain. The brain plays an integral part in vision and how information is processed. Often, trauma and other brain injuries can affect the way we are accustomed to seeing and how we live our lives. This could mean light sensitivity, headaches, trouble processing information, double vision, nausea, and more. Impact Vision Therapy offers training exercises to enhance the recovery of brain function by stimulating and strengthening visual connections in the brain. Innovative Neuro Rehab

I am physical therapist who specializes in offering Constraint Induced Movement Therapy to survivor's of stroke and brain injury. My clinic occurs in the client's home, for either 2-3 weeks, 5 hours/day one on one with a CIMT trained specialist Mon-Friday. The client wears a sling/mitt on their unaffected arm, and I intensely train their affected arm. Clients are required to wear the mitt for 90% of their waking hours. This "boot camp" has great functional return for the arm and is proven to result in neuro-plasticity in the brain. Clients have improved the functional use of their arm as great as 50%. In addition, 70% of clients of the Taub clinic in Alabama (which is the site of the originiation of CIMT), relinquished the services of their in-home caregivers after having completed the clinic.
