Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital

At Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital, we provide long-term acute care services to patients who are recovering from serious illnesses or injuries and often require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions. We consider it a privilege to be able to offer this advanced care to the area and are honored to be a vital part of our community.

At Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital we provide long-term acute care services to patients who are recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often these individuals require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, brain injuries, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputations, respiratory failure and more.

Our medical professionals work as a team to provide more intensive services to our patients than what is normally provided in an acute hospital setting. Our long-term acute care team consists of physicians, nurses, therapists, specialists, pharmacists and other highly trained medical professionals. It is led by our full-time medical director.

We tailor our medical services to the complex needs of our patients, creating a personalized plan of care that is guided by the patient’s attending physician and coordinated with consulting specialists when necessary.

Our patients receive 24-hour nursing and respiratory care services with daily physician management.

Other services we provide include:
•Speech, memory and cognitive therapy
•On-Site Laboratory Services
•Physical therapy
•Occupational therapy
•Aquatic therapy water-based treatments
•Pain management
•Dysphagia management
•Ventilator weaning
•Wound Care

In addition, we offer support groups for patients and caregivers to expand treatment and to allow those with common challenges to share experiences, explore resources, encourage one another, and to help teach each other how to best navigate their circumstances.

Why Long Term Acute Care?
Most people who need inpatient hospital services are admitted to an “acute care” hospital for a relatively short amount of time. But patients with medically complex conditions may be referred to a long-term acute care (LTACH) — which is also certified as an acute hospital — for continued care beyond their original hospital stay. LTACHs specialize in treating patients who may have more than one serious condition, but who may improve with time and care and return home.

I am a survivor and Licensed Professional Counselor working with post-traumatic event recovery. I work with both adults and children, and I'm also Spanish-speaking. My approach to counseling integrates awareness of how thoughts, emotions, & behaviors are intertwined with physiology - especially post-trauma. I work with anxiety, depression, trauma processing, relationship repair, grief & loss, organizational planning, memory strategies, personal empowerment, negative belief habits, chronic pain, and communication skills. I believe in our ongoing capacity to heal, and I support my clients in their own unique process.
