Lisa Milburn-Westfall

Therapeutic Massage may be utilized, independently or as an adjunct to Energetic Healing, to enhance the body's ability to open to a more balanced flow of energy. Increased awareness of one's physical body facilitates a clearer understanding of one's internal world on other levels as well, enabling one to more effectively lose weight, overcome anxiety, and transform dysfunctional dynamics in one's relationships with family members, friends or colleagues. Therapeutic Massage is extremely effective in relieving chronic pain from injury, overuse and dysfunctional body mechanics. My philosophy of allowing the body to release as it is ready inhibits a further aggravation of tender or injured areas, while easing the tissue into a healthier and more flexible state.

The Working Well

The Working Well helps mission-driven organizations improve their productivity and retention by teaching managers leadership skills, communications techniques, and how to embrace neurodiversity in their teams.

Many organizations struggle (especially since the pandemic) with creating a culture of inclusion and loyalty. This can lead to hiring & retention struggles, unmet financial goals and an inability to effectively focus on the company’s mission.

Through my masters in Organizational Leadership, bachelors in Psychology, years of teaching yoga and mindfulness, and my personal neurodiversity experience, I bring a fresh perspective to helping these organizations acquire the skills needed to drive a healthy, thriving company culture.

The organization I can best help is: - Mission-driven: they care deeply about creating a better community and world around them. - Committed to professional growth, collaborative team culture, and organizational change. - Feeling they spend excess time and money (re)hiring and onboarding new employees. - Might experience strained and uncomfortable communication with their team. - Located anywhere in the U.S.; I can work with organizations locally and nationally.

Here are some of the specific ways that I helps companies improve their productivity and retention: - Showing leaders how to foster loyalty and self-responsibility to build teams that are just as committed to the company mission as management is. This reduces the financial burden of continually replacing employees and allows companies to more efficiently meet their goals. - Teaching managers key leadership and communication skills so they can stop micromanaging and start leading, freeing them up for larger projects and making the workplace more harmonious. - Giving all team members the skills to create a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and ownership where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute in their own unique way. - Teaching managers how to understand and embrace neurodiversity in their team members, and how to utilize this untapped resource to make teams even stronger. - Providing skills and tools to reduce workplace stress so teams are more grounded, organized and productive.

Trudy Wayne, PT, RCST

I am a physical therapist with over 45 years of experience with children and adults who has been specializing in craniosacral therapy since 2001. This is a gentle hands-on therapy that helps to regulate the client's nervous system, being very beneficial to those who have had a brain injury.
As the therapist, I am able to feel the movement of the bones of the cranium (skull), vertebrae and sacrum (tail bone) as well as the fluid that moves around the brain and up and down the spinal cord, as well as feel the movement of the membranes surrounding and attaching to the brain. With gentle touch and with nudging the client's own innate self-healing ability, these structures and fluid movement can be brought into balance. This change can relieve symptoms such as headaches, jaw, neck and back pain and sometimes dizziness. Clients often report a deep sense of relaxation that can help to reduce feelings of anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder.
My practice is in Longmont at the Holistic/Wellness Center, 16 Mountain View, Suite 102, Longmont, CO 80503. My hours are flexible. I can accomodate clients who need to schedule week-end or evening appointments.

Warrior’s Way LLC

The Warrior’s Way is a program to assist you in building your personal power, confidence, worthiness, and living life as a never ending adventure. The Warrior’s Way is based on living with honor, integrity, compassion, and assuming self-responsibility. This is done via one/one consulting or group classes.
This is accomplished by choosing to realize your worth, being comfortable in your skin, understanding and realizing your truth. and loving yourself. The Warrior’s Way is an attitude rather than a solution. An attitude that you can find your own solutions that work for you. Realizing that what works for you isn’t necessarily what works for everyone else. Having the courage to know and live your truth. Having the humility to admit when you need help and accepting that help when offered by others.
I also have an entrepreneurial spirit and consult on setting up a new business, writing a business plan, presentations to investors, etc.

Weimer Neurofeedback LLC

I practice a specific type of Neurofeedback called Infraslow Fluctuation - ISF. It is very powerful at regulating the autonomic nervous system. My clients often struggle with anxiety, mood dysregulation, attention difficulties and various physiological discomforts due to trauma or injury. Together we work to bring balance back to the entire body and flexibility to brain networks. I incorporate mindfulness practices and talk therapy when necessary. Bringing balance to the nervous system can alleviate some of the anxiety that comes up after loss of function from brain injury. Neurofeedback can also help the brain develop new patterns and perhaps allocate resources differently to compensate for injured areas. Providing the brain with feedback about its processes brings opportunities for change that may not otherwise be possible.

Women and Brain Injury Blog

I’ve had 5 brain injuries including aneurysm brain surgery. My first two was when I was around 6 and 7 and the other 3 as an adult.
After my third TBI and continuing my work as a therapist did I finally understand why emotional trauma lingers on long after the initial injury. It didn’t matter how many times I was told me there’s nothing wrong with you, its all in your mind and given a script for an antidepressant telling me as they got up to say good-bye “you’ll be fine”.
Yet I knew there was something wrong with me and after being discarded and invalidated so many times not only did I have my work to do, but I believed I could help so many other women. And this has become my passion.
Education is so important for everyone and to understand what “Invisible Injury” means. If there is not a good support system from families, partners and friends fear, anger and isolation increase hugely.
I’ve worked with women for many years and knew I wanted to start a blog called… “Women and Brain Injury”. This blog is for women to have a voice, share our stories, be validated and to know we are not alone. And that we are not crazy.
