Lehman Disability Planning

I help families plan for the present and future needs of their child with disabilities.

I also help families remember planning is about the entire family, not just one family member. Every person in your family has present and future needs and all deserve consideration in planning.

I offer coaching and consulting services, from review and advice on accessible services for quality of life now and for the future, to helping you define your long-term vision and, of equal importance, to supporting you in completing instructions for clarity in your absence.

Because three domains impact your family’s journey, Disability Benefits, Financial Management and Planning and Legal documentation to ensure protection of your assets and your children, I work with financial advisors and specializing attorneys. If you only have one of these territories covered or they are not coordinated, you do not have a fully considered life care plan for your child.

Quality of life planning and funding encompasses many areas of concern for your children including independence, financial well-being, social and recreational opportunities, housing, education and employment.

Because families are often continually overwhelmed by the responsibilities of the present moment, developing a comprehensive future plan habitually is relegated to a perpetual "to do" list.

I will assemble your team to move your family’s planning from your “to do” list to “DONE!”

Because of my own experience with a medically fragile and developmentally disabled child, I became a statewide leader for change. Working within the Colorado early intervention system, private and public health insurance industries, and disability initiatives and medical practices, I successfully:
- Spearheaded 14 CO statutes to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families,
- Served as Executive Director for the Autism Society of CO
- Chaired the CO Autism Commission and the CO Division of Insurance Consumer Council

Now I share the wisdom I gained on my journey with parents and guardians of children with special needs who are also determined to build a brighter future for their loved ones.

The Working Well

The Working Well helps mission-driven organizations improve their productivity and retention by teaching managers leadership skills, communications techniques, and how to embrace neurodiversity in their teams.

Many organizations struggle (especially since the pandemic) with creating a culture of inclusion and loyalty. This can lead to hiring & retention struggles, unmet financial goals and an inability to effectively focus on the company’s mission.

Through my masters in Organizational Leadership, bachelors in Psychology, years of teaching yoga and mindfulness, and my personal neurodiversity experience, I bring a fresh perspective to helping these organizations acquire the skills needed to drive a healthy, thriving company culture.

The organization I can best help is: - Mission-driven: they care deeply about creating a better community and world around them. - Committed to professional growth, collaborative team culture, and organizational change. - Feeling they spend excess time and money (re)hiring and onboarding new employees. - Might experience strained and uncomfortable communication with their team. - Located anywhere in the U.S.; I can work with organizations locally and nationally.

Here are some of the specific ways that I helps companies improve their productivity and retention: - Showing leaders how to foster loyalty and self-responsibility to build teams that are just as committed to the company mission as management is. This reduces the financial burden of continually replacing employees and allows companies to more efficiently meet their goals. - Teaching managers key leadership and communication skills so they can stop micromanaging and start leading, freeing them up for larger projects and making the workplace more harmonious. - Giving all team members the skills to create a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and ownership where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute in their own unique way. - Teaching managers how to understand and embrace neurodiversity in their team members, and how to utilize this untapped resource to make teams even stronger. - Providing skills and tools to reduce workplace stress so teams are more grounded, organized and productive.
