Advanced Neurological Evaluation and Treatment Center

Denver Advanced Neurological Evaluation and Treatment Center

At Neurology Colorado we have tried to create a comprehensive treatment center for all things related to traumatic brain injury and concussion. Dr. Feldman and Brandon Schreiber, PA-C both specialize in Neurology and traumatic brain injury.
We have the capacity to perform various testings including EMG/NCV, videonystagmography for dizziness, EEG, and computerized cognitive testing. Once the results have been reviewed we can determine what course of treatment would be best and many of those treatments can be provided in our office as well. We have a psychotherapist, a cognitive rehabilitation therapist, and a neuropsychologist.

Comprehensive Neuropsychological and Psychological Services

Neuropsychological assessment
Cognitive rehabilitation treatment-Individual Psychotherapy is a relatively brief type of psychotherapy based on cognitive behavioral models, and has been demonstrated as an effective treatment for anxiety disorders (e.g. panic disorder), depression, chronic pain, insomnia, as well as many other types of disorders

Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy is based on an individual's neuropsychological evaluation test results. Detailed individualized treatment to remediate and/or compensate for cognitive deficits seen in testing is provided to patients in an outpatient setting. The treatment is most effective when begun shortly after injury or illness, and continues throughout the recovery period until the patient reaches their maximum functional level.

Daily we provide age appropriate activities for the students to learn how to work with one another (team work). We try to teach the students life long skills and activities in hopes to create healthy habits and skills that they can take with them when they leave the treatment facility. By creating opportunities for them to get out of their comfort zone (Such as hiking a 14er) within a healthy way have helped them establish future goals and heighten their self-esteem. Heartstrings & Hoofbeats

"Heartstrings & Hoofbeats" is a PATH Int'l (Professional Assoc of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Center in the DTC area. The movement of a horse perfectly mirrors the walk of a human. Research is currently being conducted to see if as a result of this patterning, synaptic connections may be reinforced. Excercises to cross the proprioceptive system are incorporated. Sequential processes (1,2,3 steps) are reinforced as needed. Equine facilitated mental health activities/stress and anxiety-reduction are popular. Our horses are the co-therapists. They are nonjudgemental, accepting and listen well. We do our best to match clients to the appropriate horse. Each horse has a different "gait" or movement. In addition, each horse reacts differently to TBI clients. Some are much better with the angered and frustrated client; some horses are better with the withdrawn or silent client. At our Center, we have 2 registered PATH certified instructorsd (formerly NARHA) .

LearningRx

LearningRx has locations in Centennial, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and Canon City. Please visit their website for specific addresses

Cognitive training is a system of highly targeted exercises used to change your brain’s capacity to think and learn. Science has proven that brain training can strengthen learning and reading skills, and even increase IQ. Unlike tutoring, LearningRx works on the brain’s ability to take in, process and deliver information, even when recovering from trauma. LearningRx can help a victim of traumatic brain injury recover their independence and quality of life by treating the cause of struggles resulting from TBI, such as difficulty thinking, memory problems, mood swings and frustration, attention difficulties and loss of speed. LearningRx can help students achieve twice the results in half the time and cost; results are permanent and guaranteed.
