Catalyst Therapies, LLC dba LoHi Physical Therapy

Peter Szymanski and Karen Voss started what is currently known as LoHi Physical Therapy in 2005. Our original company name, Catalyst Therapies, LLC, is still used today as our primary business name that many of you may recognize.

When we began our journey, we had each worked for years in large, busy therapy clinics. We wanted to create a more personal setting for our clients. We feel we have done that and are able to give them more individual attention and time.

We moved to the Lower Highlands neighborhood in 2007 and in 2012 added our current name, LoHi Physical Therapy. We relocated to our new home in the Sloan’s Lake area in April of 2017 and look forward to providing services in the area for years to come. We continue to be conveniently located in the central Denver area.

Our Philosophy
Catalyst Therapies, LLC now dba LoHi Physical Therapy continues to place an emphasis on identifying your needs and providing you the tools for you to be able to optimize your function and reduce pain and injury. You will notice the difference in our physical therapy services, occupational therapy and hand therapy specialty services.

We ask a lot of ourselves and of our bodies. You don’t have to live with pain or compromise function due to pain.

MISSION:
Affordable, direct access to physical therapy and occupational therapy, comprehensive services, professional knowledge and clinical wisdom in addressing neuro-muscular-skeletal problems.

Colorado Osteopathic & Integrative Medicine Associates, PC

We learn to palpate (feel) the structural form, tissue texture changes, subtle motions and the flow of fluids within the body. The Osteopath then addresses health problems with a non-invasive medical system known as Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or Treatment in order to restore normal function in areas impaired by trauma, chronic illness, or acute health problems. The removal of restricted areas produces free motion that enables the inherent healing systems to work unhindered.

Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC)

The Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC), a nonprofit located in Longmont, Colorado, was founded in 1980 and is the oldest and one of the largest therapeutic riding centers in Colorado, and one of the oldest and largest in the country. We are a Premier Accredited Center under PATH International. Our mission is to promote the physical, psychological and social well being of people with special needs through the interaction of a therapeutic team consisting of a horse, instructor and volunteers.

Currently CTRC serves participants through three program areas: Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy and the Mini Troopers. Weekly, we serve between 100-150 children and adults with a wide range of physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities. Including many children and adults with brain injuries. Each week CTRC utilizes the services of an average of 250 trained volunteers and 20 well trained horses.

Therapeutic Riding is the core of our programs at CTRC. Certified instructors, with trained volunteers, assist riders to learn riding and horsemanship skills while working on therapeutic goals. As participants in Therapeutic Riding, riders gain a sense of freedom and independence, experience accomplishments, interact socially, and learn new skills in a pleasurable environment.

Hippotherapy comes from the Greek word "hippos" meaning horse and translated means "treatment with the horse”. Clients in hippotherapy work one on one with a licensed, credentialed therapist utilizing the movement of the horse to achieve functional outcomes.

Mini Troopers utilizes a miniature horse and handler partnership to facilitate the well-being of populations with special needs who are unable to come to CTRC due to a myriad of reasons. The goal of “Mini Troopers” is to bring the animal assisted activities (AAA) to the individual(s).

Even though CTRC does not file Medicaid we do accept Medicaid if an outside source is filing. We also try and keep our cost for Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy as low as possible.

Concussion Center at the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies (OCR)

Our team of sports medicine professionals has taken care of thousands of competitive and recreational athletes from the Rocky Mountain region, across the country, and even around the world.

Many athletes have come to Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies (OCR) to receive highly specialized care for knee, shoulder, and other, often complex injuries.
We also have experience treating competitors at all levels—from youth recreation leagues through high school and college levels and up to professional athletes.
Locally, our physicians and Athletic Trainers work with Colorado State University, Colorado Eagles hockey, Colorado Ice arena football, rodeo, and a large number of high school and club sports.

Regional Concussion Center
Developing a specialized Concussion Center for the region was a natural fit for OCR, given the athletes and teams we serve. As the need emerged for comprehensive care to help athletes return to activities safely after a concussion, OCR developed the Regional Concussion Center. It is staffed by a wide range of specialized healthcare professionals.
Alissa Wicklund, PhD, our concussion specialist, plays the central role in evaluating and treating athletes with concussions. Dr. Wicklund is a board-certified neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment of cognitive and behavioral symptoms of a concussion. She also specializes in the use of the many computerized and clinical tools that assist in the diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Wicklund treats athletes with acute and lingering symptoms following a concussion, as well as those who have suffered multiple concussions during their lifetime.

Consultants for Children

Our mission is to provide the best possible treatment plan for children diagnosed with Autism and/or other developmental disabilities by providing comprehensive consulting services to both parents and schools. CFCI was developed to educate parents and schools to work effectively with these children, keeping the child’s best interest in mind. We strive to put the needs of the individual child and their families first, rather than any particular teaching method or philosophy. We feel that not doing so results in programs that are inadequate and overall ineffective. With our experience and extensive knowledge, and with the variety of treatment options available, we believe we can not only help children progress, but give hope back to their families.

It is my belief that you have all the tools within you to become your very best self. In our work we will strive to find those tools or sharpen the ones that you already have. To do this we will focus on your mental, physical, and spiritual health. I use traditional talk therapy techniques as well as more experiential work as well. That means if you don't want to sit on a couch and talk we don't have to. I understand that not everyone's process of healing is the same and it shouldn't have to be.

The Center for Conscious Touch, Inc.

We provide Craniosacral and body-centered trauma resolution therapies.

When the brain is suddenly shifted within the cranium in a traumatic event it can pull the cranial bones out of their healthy pattern of movement. That imbalance then inhibits the brain returning to a state of healthy function.
Craniosacral therapy focuses on facilitating the restoration of cranial balance and function without any force.

Trauma has a body component which can limit a persons recovery. Trauma resolution therapy focuses on releasing trauma bound energy from the body.

I began my career in the field of massage therapy in 1989, specializing in cranial work in 1992. In 2004 I received my certification in Somatic Trauma Resolution Therapy.
